Show the Important People in Your Life How Much You Care

Hey there!

If you’re reading this within a few weeks of today’s post date, then you’re probably sitting inside trying to pass the time due to social distancing or a shelter in place order. Maybe you’ve already read through one of our recent posts, 6 Fun Things to Do When You're Stuck Inside, or maybe you’ve gone through our entire catalog! (You deserve a medal if you have — we’ve been writing consistently since 2015!)

You’ve probably noticed that a lot of our posts focus on things you can do for others. As artists, we believe that we’re not just creating things that can be hung on the wall; instead, we’re creating connections, memories, and tokens of gratitude that bring smiles to faces across the country.

You’ve probably also noticed that we’re running a sale right now. If you purchase more than $100 worth of personalized art prints, we’ll give you 19% off if you use the code “CABINFEVER” when you check out. Please note that this promotion is running for a limited amount of time.

With growing economic uncertainty ahead, you may not have an extra $100 to spend on anything — art included.

That’s perfectly fine, and we completely understand. Today’s post builds off of our mission to help you connect with the important people in your life and show them how much you care. Here are a few ideas you can use to show your loved ones that you’re thinking about them, even if you can’t leave your residence:

Phone Calls

We know this one might sound obvious, but it won't be to many of our younger readers who prefer to communicate via text. Trust us — people used to communicate over the phone all the time.

All jokes aside, most of us have more free time on our hands than we know what to do with, so take a moment to think about the people in your life with whom you haven’t had a chance to connect in a while. Maybe it’s a relative who lives in another state, or perhaps you have a dear friend who’s been busy pursuing a degree or career.

Give those people a call — we’re willing to bet that you won’t regret it.

Book Club

As we mentioned in a previous blog, now is the perfect time to start working through the reading list that’s been accumulating for as long as you can remember. Human connection is more important now than ever before, so see if any of your friends are willing to purchase an electronic copy and read along. You could even organize a group call and have an online happy hour as you discuss the reading!

Check In

Maybe you aren’t a fan of phone calls and don’t have an interest in starting a remote book club. No problem — those are just two of the many possible ways you can show someone how much you care.

Above all else, just check in with your loved ones and ask how they’re doing. Send them a text message letting them know that you’re thinking about them, or see if they want to have a face-to-face chat in cyberspace.
